Who We Are
We’re not your average workplace. At Concurrent, we’re buzzing with energy and powered by people who roll up their sleeves and get things done. No spectators. No red tape. Just brilliant people solving real problems and scaling big ideas.
What You’ll Do
As our Accounts Assistant, you’ll be the backbone of our finance team, making sure invoices are processed, customers are paying on time, payroll runs smoothly, and our ledgers stay in top shape. Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, you’ll own day-to-day processes across sales ledger, credit control, payroll, and reporting, while also supporting our management accounts and external audits.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives on structure, accuracy, and making sure the details add up.
You’ll:
Process sales invoices and handle credit notes.
Maintain and reconcile the sales ledger, chasing overdue payments where needed.
Allocate incoming payments to customer accounts.
Reconcile customer accounts weekly, escalating disputes or late payments when needed.
Assist in preparing aged debtor reports and performance metrics for management review.
Process payroll data into our payroll system, checking payslips, and resolving variances.
Run monthly VAT returns for review by the Group Financial Controller.
Collate financial data for interim and year-end audits.
Provide ad hoc support to management accounts and reporting.
About You
You’re detail-driven, organised, and thrive in a role where accuracy really matters. You’re just as comfortable chasing down a late payment as you are preparing payroll or checking reconciliations, and you take pride in keeping everything running smoothly.
You’ll bring:
Experience in sales ledger, credit control, invoicing, or payroll.
Strong Excel skills and high numeracy.
Excellent communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach.
A logical, problem-solving mindset with strong organisational skills.
Confidence working with colleagues at all levels, including non-finance teams.
Nice to have:
VAT returns or audit support experience.
Familiarity with Business Central.
Studying towards (or qualified in) AAT or other.
Why Join Concurrent?
You’ll be joining a fast-moving, supportive team where finance is seen as a partner, not just a back-office function. This role will give you broad exposure across the business, from sales ledger and payroll to audits and management accounts, with the chance to make the role your own, and grow as we grow. In return you’ll receive:
25 days holiday + bank holidays and holiday purchase scheme
Annual profit share bonus
Enhanced parental leave & income protection
Cycle to work, Home & Tech, and car salary sacrifice schemes
Generous company pension scheme (up to 10% employer contribution)
Private Bupa health insurance & YuLife wellbeing app
One paid volunteering day per year
Referral scheme, employee assistance programme & virtual GP
Equal Opportunity Statement
We believe in building a workplace where everyone belongs. We’re committed to creating a diverse and inclusive team and welcome applications from all backgrounds. If there’s anything you need to support you through the interview process, let us know we’re here to help.
