Platform Protection

Real-time processing and deterministic networking for vehicle protection systems

Platform Protection

Modern combat vehicles face incoming anti-tank missiles, uncrewed aerial systems, and rocket-propelled munitions. Neutralising these kinetic threats with Active Protection Systems (APS) requires instantaneous multi-sensor processing, rapid trajectory calculation, and deterministic countermeasure release with zero tolerance for network lag or dropped packets.

Concurrent designs and manufactures rugged 3U VPX computing platforms that integrate high-performance Intel® processing, GPU-accelerated AI, and Time Sensitive Networking (TSN).

Our scalable, SOSA® aligned vehicle architectures provide a deterministic, field-proven computing foundation that de-risks vehicle survivability integration for both programme managers and vetronics engineers.

Built for deterministic, real-time performance

Active Protection Systems and vehicle survivability suites depend on the ability to ingest raw radar and optical data, process it in microseconds, and move mission-critical firing commands between subsystems with guaranteed, bounded latency.

Our rugged systems and architectures enable:

  • Real-time multi-sensor processing at the edge across radar, optical, infrared, and acoustic shot detection

  • GPU-accelerated AI threat classification to distinguish incoming threats from battlefield clutter rapidly

  • Deterministic communications via Time Sensitive Networking (TSN), eliminating packet collisions and latency spikes

  • High-performance computing for trajectory estimation and precision countermeasure fire control

  • Ultra-low latency data exchange across copper and optical vehicle databuses

  • Scalable, SOSA® aligned 3U VPX architectures that support multi-payload expansion within a single enclosure

Cronos

Cronos

Flexible 7-slot conduction-cooled 3U VPX rugged system with integrated GPU and 10G optical TSN connectivity. It’s ideal for land vehicle applications, but also usable in maritime or airborne environments. Designed to support multiple processing payloads such as Hermes (TR LBE) SBC alongside the latest GPU, FPGA and MPSoC boards.

A metallic mechanical device with a rectangular shape, featuring multiple screws and components on its surface, lying on a white background.

Condor AGX-IOX

A rugged 3U VPX high-performance single board computer (SBC) designed for both autonomous and embedded edge computing systems completing instantaneous data analysis and transfer, multi-sensor processing, encode/decode, and AI Inferencing. The Condor AGX-IOX is designed with the NVIDIA® Jetson AGX Orin™ SoM(Industrial) supporting an NVIDIA Ampere GPU and the Arm® Cortex®-A78AE CPU. This product supports 64GB LPDDR5 system memory allowing up to 205 GB/s memory bandwidth shared between the ARM Cortex CPUs, NVIDIA Ampere GPU, and Accelerator Engines.

A deterministic architecture for Platform Protection

Configured with TR K9 RC, Condor AGX-IOX, and Hermod II, the Cronos system provides a rugged, 7-slot 3U VPX architecture combining intensive mission compute, edge AI sensor fusion, and deterministic networking.

The TR K9 RC Single Board Computer delivers I/O-intensive Intel® Core™ processing power to execute ballistic tracking models and defensive fire control logic. The Condor AGX-IOX provides dedicated GPU acceleration to ingest high-rate optical and radar feeds, classifying and tracking incoming projectiles in real time. Connecting these cards is Hermod II, a rugged 1G/10G Ethernet switch featuring Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) standards to guarantee deterministic, microsecond-level data delivery between sensors, processors, and countermeasure launchers.

Housed inside the heavy-duty, conduction-cooled Cronos chassis, this architecture provides a survivable, scalable computing engine designed to meet the extreme shock, vibration, and thermal demands of tracked and wheeled armoured vehicles.
