The Role

Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, the Management Accountant will play a key role in supporting business leaders in their strategic financial planning.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation of accurate and timely management accounts to the leadership team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is either currently part qualified or qualified and looking to gain exposure across all areas of the business.

What will I be doing?

The role of the Management Accountant combines accounting and business management skills; therefore, your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Prepare periodic management accounts, including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows forecasting, variance analysis and commentaries

  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and identify KPI’s to support the operational teams within the business

  • Provide an advisory support service by working with all departments and the management team to help make financial decisions and accounts in context

  • Partner with different teams to ensure spending is kept in line with their budgets

  • Play a key role in the preparation of year-end financial statements and external audit

What are we looking for?

Demonstrated knowledge and experience:

- Management accounting experience - Commercial awareness with a good grasp of business operations - Familiarity with Business Central (a plus)

Technical skills and qualifications:

  • Part or fully qualified with a professional accountancy qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACA, ACCA)

  • High level of numeracy

  • Excellent excel skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

    Behavioural competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to work with colleagues at all levels including non-finance employees

  • A lively and enquiring mind with a logical approach to work, combined with analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
