FOR EMBARGOED RELEASE UNTIL 10 MARCH 2026

Eir available to order now; Hermes II and Magni II open for early access; Caelus VME card coming soon

Concurrent, a leader in embedded computing solutions, today announced a new family of rugged embedded compute cards based on Intel® Core Ultra Processor (Series 3) (previously called Panther Lake).

The launch is led by Eir, a new 3U OpenVPX processor board available in aircooled and conductioncooled variants and available to order now. Concurrent also announced Hermes II and Magni II, two SOSA® aligned 3U VPX cards featuring a Secure Enclave implemented with a security FPGA, with early access now open ahead of shipping. A nextgeneration VME processor card, Caelus, was also announced as coming soon.

Designed for critical infrastructure and defence platforms, the new family supports applications including mission computing, sensor processing and highbandwidth data ingest, AIassisted edge analytics, and longlife platform refresh programmes.

Eir (3U OpenVPX) — available to order now

Eir is a 3U VPX processor board designed as a unified upgrade path for nonSOSA 3U VPX processor deployments, helping programs modernise performance while maintaining a familiar VPX approach.

Highlights:

  • Based on Intel® Core Ultra Processor (Series 3) (previously called Panther Lake)

  • Aircooled (+70°C) and conductioncooled (+85°C card edge) variants

  • PCIe data and expansion planes, plus additional PCIe connectivity for I/O

·       Ethernet control plane

·       XMC or frontpanel I/O module options

·       +5V or +12V power input options

Typical use cases: platform refresh for deployed VPX systems, mission computer upgrades, and rugged edge processing where thermal headroom matters.
