Concurrent presents embedded system technology to UK land domain

Colchester, UK, 14th September 2026: Concurrent Technologies Plc, a leader in embedded computing solutions, will be showcasing its family of computing systems including the British-made Cronos 3U VPX system at this year’s DVD event being held at UTAC Millbrook Proving Ground from 16-17 September.

The upcoming biennial land event brings together British government and industry defence stakeholders, providing a key opportunity for Concurrent to demonstrate its embedded computing pedigree and prowess to the UK land defence market.

In alignment with the show’s theme, “Connected for Combat – Aligning people, systems and decisions”, Concurrent is proud to highlight its capabilities, particularly Cronos.

The Cronos system is a key example of robust capability, designed and built in the UK for a Ministry of Defence-funded Implementation project that is aligned to NATO STANAG 4822 – Land Defensive Aids Suite (DAS) and ran by a UK industry consortium.

At DVD2026, the Concurrent team will be available to discuss three key areas:

  • Mission compute for land platforms  – rugged, high-performance computing for applications including situational awareness, electronic warfare, active vehicle protection, C-UAS, and C2.

  • Mission networking  – reliable, deterministic, managed 1G to 100G Ethernet switches, including TSN standards support, fibre / copper connectivity, and ultra-low-latency capability.

  • Future-ready architectures  – heterogenous compute, cyber security, virtualisation, networking, timing and storage technologies designed to support capability upgrades throughout long platform lifecycles.

In addition to Cronos, visitors to the stand will be able to see examples of other Concurrent technologies including Hornet, Hermod II, Hermes II, and Kratos, alongside further rugged computing technologies.

UK supply chain

Concurrent is a well-established market leader and UK-based defence supplier in embedded computing board design and bolstered its embedded rugged system offering when it acquired Phillips Aerospace in 2023.

The company is well positioned to provide processing, networking, timing, storage and input/output technologies within rugged computing platforms configured around customer requirements, including manufacturing systems for the UK market.

Concurrent’s embedded computing boards are designed and manufactured in the UK. The team continues to invest in its Colchester manufacturing facility to ensure the capacity to design and deliver from the site as required.

Colchester is one of two UK-based Concurrent sites, the other being Theale. Both locations, alongside the company’s Californian facility, are AS9100 certified.
