Kim Garrod, CFO, on breaking barriers in leadership
March 2025
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Concurrent, a leader in embedded computing solutions, has unveiled Kratos, a compute-intensive, rugged, SOSA-aligned 3U VPX Plug In Card designed to meet the rigorous demands of secure communications in challenging environments. With 20 cores, a large memory capacity processor, Air-Flow-Through cooling, and a processor that includes a VRAN accelerator, Kratos enhances both network efficiency and security.
Kratos offers a substantial upgrade to any rugged communications network. Its unmatched processing power enhances situational awareness by providing up-to-date information, allowing for quicker decision making and response times. Additionally, it improves efficiency by reducing network latency and boosting system-wide processing speeds while providing a secure communication platform with built-in measures to protect sensitive military data.
When it comes to future-proofing, Kratos is designed for future readiness, with options to support seamless upgrades and integrations.
"As mission-critical embedded computing applications become increasingly data-centric, the influx of information requires system-wide processing power and enhanced data security to ensure mission success. Without it, any operation is left vulnerable to system latency and external threats," said Brent Salgat, Chief Revenue Officer at Concurrent.
"Kratos is the ideal tool for enhancing secure 5G communication networks. It offers our customers unrivalled efficiency, enhanced situational awareness, and ensures that sensitive data is protected, future-proofing their systems for all potential challenges."
Unmatched Processing Power: the 145W 20-core Intel Xeon 6516P-B processor (formerly known as Granite Rapids HCC) with VRAN Accelerator provides the muscle needed for real-time data processing and analysis, giving the military a much-needed battlefield edge.
Ample memory and storage: with up to 256GB DDR5 memory at 6400MT/s and up to 2TB direct attached storage with Hardware Write Protection, or 1TB with FIPS 140-3 compliant storage module, there is plenty of space for critical data and multiple applications, ensuring a smoothly executed operation.
Blazing fast connectivity and rock-solid security: supporting 100Gb Ethernet, PCIe Gen 5, with FIPS 140-3 compliance and Concurrent’s Guardian security packages means Kratos not only ensures seamless high-speed data transfers and communication, but does so whilst safeguarding sensitive data against unauthorised access and tampering.
As battlefields become increasingly data-centric, secure communications and high-speed processing power are vital for success. Kratos provides the core processing power for any future network while ensuring the data security needed to protect vital information and assets in the field. Its built in VRAN accelerator avoids the need for an additional dedicated module to communicate with the Radio Access Network.
Concurrent is advancing embedded computing solutions with a focus on innovation, reliability, and exceptional service. With a strong commitment to growth, the company continually expands its reach and offerings, empowering customers to operate seamlessly in even the most challenging environments.
